Etude De Buste

Lahner became increasingly interested in the human form in the 1930's. Acrobats, animals, group portraits and the female nude were subjects that reflected the artist's preoccupations. Etude De Buste is a particularly fine example of the oeuvre - the head and face delicately articulated, the torso boldly outlined yet in strong relationship with the impressionistic background.
