Loge de theatre
1930

There are many works by Lahner depicting theatre scenes. In Loge de theatre, he portrays the bust-length figures of five women seated on two levels. The lack of direction of their gazes reflects the more formal, rather than narrative, emphasis in many of Lahner's works. The web of red lines that defines and surrounds the women organizes the space and gives an indication of the setting.
